Welcome to our very first blog,There’s been so many big changes for us here at Boutique Cake Art this year.  We outgrew our beautiful little Yarraville location, and we’ve just settled into our new home in West Footscray. We’d love to see you at our new studio, and we’re open by appointment at our new location so get in touch for all your cake needs. We’ve also started with our very first ever blog, let us introduce you to LIVE | LOVE | BAKE  - a journey and constant discovery of the three elements central to creating Boutique Cake Art

LIVE

We like to think of life as one long celebration, dotted with cakes along the way to highlight the milestones. For most of my life I’ve wanted to work in the food industry, and becoming a pastry chef was a career highlight. Opening my own boutique cake studio was the logical next step. It’s such an honour to be entrusted with creating the cakes for your special occasions. One thing that has evolved over the last few years is my love of all creative pursuits, learning more about floristry and combining this with my cake work has become an important part of my creative process. This is what started the idea of opening ‘The Flour Shop Academy’.  Where we will be offering dedicated creative workshops. We’ll be starting with cake decorating, floristry and cookie workshops and adding to this over time.  Stay tuned, because we’ll be releasing our first workshop dates soon.

LOVE

Who doesn't love, love? We adore helping you create the perfect cake for your big day. We’re happy to go low key [or all out].  It’s your big day after all. We’re just along for the ride. It's all about the journey as a couple and your style choices should reflect this. We LOVE sharing our brides journeys and why cake design is important to bring the whole day together. There are no picture books to choose your cake from here at BCA. We take your overall style into consideration when designing and this blog will take you behind the scenes of the love stories and style choices of our brides and grooms along their journeys.

BAKE

Well this is an obvious one to talk about, but I don't often share. I'm usually too busy whipping up buttercream and putting the final piece of decoration on a cake before they are whisked off to their final destination. Early next year we will be sharing some our favourite cakes and techniques with you all and inviting a few of of those we admire to share their baking techniques as well.
